PwP FAQ

Q. Is Passports with Purpose a non-profit?
A. Nope. We're not a non-profit but AAfC is. We just connect the dots between potential donors and projects for which we'd like to raise money.

Q. Where does the money go once I make a donation?
A. Your donation is made directly to the American Assistance for Cambodia (AAfC) which is a 501(c)3 charity. Donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Q. Do all funds go directly to the charity?
A. With the exception of a very small percentage of fees that go to PayPal for processing payments, everything goes directly to the charity.

Q. Does anyone at Passports with Purpose get paid?
A. Nope. The four founders are volunteers who are interested in helping out those less fortunate. No one is paid for their work with PwP.

Q. How do I know if my friend/mom/reader has donated to PwP?
A. To respect the privacy of our donors, we have kept this information hidden. You might simply remind them to donate if they haven't already.

Q. How do I know which items have the highest (or lowest) number of bids?
A. You won't know exactly. But, we have published a list of Best Odds with regards to prizes that have fewer bids.

Q. My company matches gifts - do you accept matching money for my donation?
A. Of course! If you work for a company that matches charitable contributions, you can request a form from your company to match your donation to AAfC.

Q. Does PwP purchase prizes for the fundraiser?
A. Nope! All prizes are donated either by the manufacturer or by the blogger who is sponsoring/promoting that particular item.

Q. I'm a blogger, how do I get involved with PwP next year?
A. Please fill out this form and we'll get you on the list for next year!

Q. How do I become a sponsor for next year's PwP?
A. We will be contacting potential sponsors in the summer of 2010. Please drop us a line and we'll be sure to provide you with details at that time: info (at) passportswithpurpose (dot) com

Q. How does PwP choose which non-profit to fund?
A. We generally decide based on personal interest as well as what we think a broad number of travel bloggers, travelers and travel companies would like to support.
